The Council’s greatest strength is the breadth and depth of Michigan’s Muslim communities, and the estimated 250,000 strong Muslims they represent. Our member organizations unite through the Council through general body meetings, committees, community service, and our various modalities of civic engagement. Each member organization nominates two official delegates to the ultimate decision-making body, or ‘general body’, of the Council. From within these organizations come the various members of our board, and all delegates share ownership in the programs facilitated, supported, or endorsed by the Council. Accordingly, the Council’s strategies, decision-making, and initiatives are closely in-tune with and reflect the concerns and involvement of the grassroots community of Muslim-Americans in Michigan.
