Terry Jones and his burning of the Holy Qu'ran. I can only imagine him to be incredibly sick and twisted in mind and spirit. That he is dangerous, is not limited to his inciting the violent acts of revenge that followed in the wake of his actions. What he does, and I fear will continue to do, is dangerous because it poisons the Well from which we all drink. It erects the walls of "them" and "us." My understanding of Christianity is that I am called upon to challenge such walls, to aid in the dismantling of them, to be a "bridge over troubled waters." Representative Peter King's hearings have about them a tone that is also divisive. With regard to him, I can only imagine that after 2001, his grief "radicalized" his own heart in a quite destructive way. I just wanted to add my voice to what I hope are countless other Christians you are hearing from in saying that I am appalled and am in solidarity with you in resisting these various actions which can produce only more heartache, loss, and the fracturing of our human community.
