Community Service

CIOM has agreed to make community service a priority for the first time.  While the Council has served the community for over 20 years, this is our organization’s first attempt at establishing community service as an independent and identifiable priority.  Collaboration, facilitation, and education will be central in our efforts to not only serve, but also to empower the underserved.  Be it health care (i.e. Flu vaccinations, HUDA Clinic), education (i.e. tutoring, job training), or anything else – our efforts will be in strict accordance with our mission.  As such, we intend to enhance our website to coordinate the service activities of the entire Michigan Muslim community (similar format to www.serve.gov).  Chicago’s IMAN is one of a few organizations on which we hope to model this branch of CIOM’s operations.
